Paynesville Neighbourhood Centre hosted another Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for the Cancer Council – and what a big morning tea it was!
We had a full house at the Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club, with support from Community Bank Paynesville & District to make this a great event!
We knew before the day had even started that this could be our biggest one yet (in terms of dollars raised), with a very impressive $7,300 in donations from community organisations and individuals – and that doesn’t include any ticket or raffle sales!!
A huge thanks to Paynesville Op Shop, Paynesville Community Craft Centre Inc, Paynesville Lions Club, Paynesville Dental Centre, LJ Hooker Paynesville, Alma’s Cafe and various community members for their financial donations.
We also had huge support from Paynesville Uniting Church Friendship Shed and Opportunity Shop with funds donated to purchase food and raffle prizes. Paynesville Tennis Club also jumped on board to contribute delicious slices and prizes for the raffle.
This year, we were overwhelmed by the amount of support from the local community to contribute in some way – we had so many awesome raffle prizes I was concerned it might turn into an afternoon tea by the time raffle draws were finished!
Big thanks also to Paynesville CWA ladies for making the sandwiches- they were delicious! We had a crew of amazing volunteers and PNC staff that worked extremely hard to make this happen-thank you!

The final amount raised was $9026.20!
We are so happy to not only raise funds for this very important cause, but also to have such great support and community collaborations – including local businesses donating prizes for raffles.
Paynesville community you are amazing!
